Unhappy Rinehart Discoloration

Hey riders, have installed the Rinehart Eaglebeak mufflers on my 2008 FLHTC. Have logged about 1000 miles on them. Strangely enough the once black Rinehart Signature ring on the right exhaust has turned to a metallic copper color (pretty cool color actually). But, I don't know what has caused this. Needless to say I have switched the signature rings from right to left given the right side takes most of the exhaust from the the rear cylinder as well. The signature ring from the left muffler (now installed on the right side) has already lost the black appearance and is fading to a deep purple (as did the first one) on it's way to copper color I'm sure. QUESTION?? What could be causing this?? No other mods yet, just stock ECM and Air Filter and our quality Canadian Gas.
Any thoughts are welcome.

Have you spoken to anyone at Rinehart? They have replaced discolored caps for me on two occasions, and have replaced countless rear pipes that the mounting tab broke off of (early design) You'll have to have the shop where you bought them make the call, but as I said, they've always stood behind their product when I contacted them.Good luck

Thanks Ace. That was my original thought but I was concerned about the typical run-around i.e. not properly mapped, bad fuel, who installed them..yadda, yadda, yadda. Glad to hear they're reputable and stand behind their products. Will make the call and see if my dealer can act on my behalf. Thanks for the speedy response.

Mine discolored and I replaced them some really nice looking chrome tips - don't have to worry about the color at all.....

I have the Rineharts on mine with the black caps and no problem. i did however brake the tab on the rear pipe several times and finally found a fix that worked. 2 years later i heard about a new pipe with a new design. i called Rinehart and asked how much a new design pipe would cost and gave them my name and address. 3 weeks later i got a brand new rear pipe "no charge" and an apology for the problems i had with the old design. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE BAR NONE.

I noticed the inside of my tips are a neat copper color. Outside is still nice and black.

I don't care for chrome, so that's not an option. When the outside turns, I'll probably just hit it with some HT black paint and go on down the road.

I have read that there were a lot of the pipe tips changing colors and that once contacted, Rinehart sent out the replacement tips with no problems or hassles. You should have no problems either.
