Default FLH Heritage Style Handlebars

I finally took the plunge and changed out my stock FLHR handlebars for the HD Heritage Style Part # 56902-08. I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam, and long arms. I could never find that happy medium of comfort after riding 14,000 miles in 1 season. Majority of time I had that nagging pain between the shoulder blades on longer trips.

Friday morning I purchased the new bars and switched them out. It took me about 3.5 hrs re-reading every step of the service manual twice since I'm new at this. No problems what so ever. Just followed the instructions and took my time.

After riding about 300 miles since I'm very happy with this set-up. I sat on a Heritage Soft Tail & FLHR Police for comparison before buying. Maybe it was just the angles on these 2 mentioned but I wasn't quite sold and 2nd guessing myself walking out of the dealership. Once installed on mine no more awkward wrist angles, hands hanging low, or arms out stretched with elbows locked. This set up is the perfect solution at least for me. Just thought I'd share this.

Hey Nuke. That was one of the things I did to make my ride more comfortable. Bars are cheap. Glad it worked out for you.

I wished I'd had done this last year when I first purchased the bike. Of course being my first HD I was over whelmed with all the bells & whistles that I just had to have let alone new style handlebars.

This last weekend I took a 600 mile trip to visit family. The new bars were worth it. No more back or shoulder pain to mention. It still takes a little time getting used to the different style look they present.
