Default 98hog

I have just had my wrench repair the top end ie new adjustable push rods lifters, blocks, inner cam bearing, new ev 27 cam with gear, inboard cam bearing.

The outer bushing was not replaced and I am not sure why??

My problem now is I have a whinning cam which my wrench doesn't seem very interested in fixing.
And sometimes a lifter is sticking also.
The reason for the above was a lifter stuck and worn the cam,l it had a screeming eagle cam in it before.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First off,welcome aboard.
From what you're telling us the whining you're hearing is quite likely (not definitely) just a matter of the new Andrews cam gear not quite matching the pinion/crank gear of your engine. IF thats the case (not uncommon) one solution would be to change your pinion/crank gear to one that's been measured to fit your new cam gear...another and far simpler/cheaper solution would be to have the press fit cam gear from your old cam (if not damaged) press fit on to the new cam...and a 3'rd solution (?) would be to just live with it IF it's just a SLIGHT whine you're hearing. Meanwhile though I for ONE would'nt care if the wrench was'nt very interested in correcting what he was PAID to do the RIGHT way. I mean I'd definately UNDERSTAND his position but would'nt care...his bad, his problem...should'a thunk of it going in.

The outer cam bushing might be just fine...but under the circumstances ??????

Meanwhile are you sure a new lifter is "sticking" at times...or could we be talking about a lifter that's just "ticking" until your engine warms up and the lifters pump up,etc...big difference there.

One thing for sure...I know you're going to like that EV-27 cam

Thanks for the info nice to have another opinion the ticking happens at irregular times after it is warm and could be anytime briefly and then goes away.
