I was going to purchase a Zumo for mine and got this gas cap mount for it. Went with the Pioneer unit instead and this lovely piece is now for sale.

80 bucks including shipping.

Got my StreetGlide set up with one. Havent needed it yet. I'de rather explore on my own and if need be pop it out of the bags. Good to have when your running outta time or when the skies open up and you need to dry off and pop a cold one. Botz

One thing I haven't seen listed yet is being able to "see" the road ahead of you on the GPS screen. Knowing that a sharp bend is coming up on that twisty two-laner you're riding is an additional safety benefit. I found myself being a lot more adventuresome knowing I'd never be lost with my GPS.

Welcome to the forum, keflaman.
I got that feature on my cell phone thingy.... I watched it update itself as we traveled along in the work truck, I was the passenger, I cant think it would be safe to try that while driving!!!

Thanks for the welcome, uncle.

I was stationed in Europe for the past nine years and the last three were in Naples, Italy. I have a TomTom 510 that I attached to the tank of my sport bike in a fashion similar to the picture Street Bob posted. Having a visual clue of the road ahead was quite helpful when the roadsigns indicated multiple curves, but not how many or how sharp.

As long as you don't fixate on the screen, I'm quite sure it's not any less safe than glancing down at the instrument cluster while riding.

And an additional safety feature on the gps, tho not documented that I know of, is you can't text on one.
By the way, why doesn't anyone on a trike never use a sidecar?

Ok. I'll confess, winter is setting in way too early and I am getting desperate. The brain-farts are starting already.

No room for the sidecar with the dual wheels in back on the trike

Better yet... why not put a side car on instead of a trike kit? I would ALMOST get the Ultra side car and put my mastiff in it for trips... if the damn thing didn't cost the same as a Sportster ($10,500). Once I got my knees in... the thinh was damn comfy LOL

Honestly I don't know. It's not marine grade. Biketronics sent a sticky sheet of plastic to cover the radio unit but the GPS unit sits on top of that so I don't have much faith in it. I went with Hawg-Wired for the new carrier and they supplied a very nice billet piece with two rubber orings that fit the stock opening in the fairing. The Biketronics kit was junk so if you're considering an aftermarket install, go with HW. Bottom line is, if I ever hit a really hard rain, I think I'm in deep dodo......
