Default Harmon Kardon Radio software update

Anyone download the files from HD and update the radio software on the HK radio? I dont have the most recent version of software but when I try and install the new software via cd it gets about half way through the process then shows a "wrong CD" error on the screen.

Botzman; What version are you trying to upgrade to? Is there a version newer than V8.19? I don't know much about this, but reading the Hogtunes info, you have to burn your cd at a slow rate or it won't read. I have the pdf file if you'd like it, or you can go to hogtunes.com and find it.

According to the HD site they are up to version V8.21. I have V8.19 now. Heres the link. I burned the files at a slow speed and basically did everything by the book but it wont update it. Heres the HD link:

Gas Man,

The newest version is supposed to increase clarity and volume slightly. Also, when playing a home made cd or mp3's the artisit info and song info will appear in the display. Botz

Botz; Sounds like a worthwhile upgrade. I'm gonna burn it as soon as I can (after noon).
I'll let you know how mine goes, may shed light on your problem.

Botz; I downloaded the update to a flash memory stick, gave it to my wife and she burned a cd on her 'puter. I asked if she burned it real slow, and she said "I don't think our pgm. has an option". I put the cd in my bike and followed the instructions and everything went smooth. I checked software version and it's now showing loaded with v8.22.0. I put a home burned cd in and it played, but did not display song/artist name. I plugged mp3 in and same thing, works good, but no song/artist display. Not a biggie to me, but if anyone does this and finds out how to get artist/song display on mp3 or home burned cd, please post it. Sorry I am not able to give you any hints on fixing your problem, I was LUCKY!! Keep us posted.

Botz; Yes the files were 136 packed / 768, and 101 packed / 258.
I won't be able to tell anything about the volume and clarity, because I just took off the fairing and put some 1/4" sticky foam insulation inside the outer fairing, right behind the speakers. I also put a "Y" connector on the radio antenna so I can run my whip antenna on trips. And my in the fairing tune trapper when I don't have the tour pack on.
