Default Brake Fluid

why do you need to use dot5 fluid in the brake system if you have flushed the system and put in dot 3

Please someone correct me if I am wrong here - but if youve rebuilt the system TOTALLY with all new seals, etc -NOTE: more than just a simple flush an clean - I think you can run any brake fluid..you want....

I'd like this confirmed first tho....or corrected
