Default Banjo Bolt Size??

Have a 2003 Deuce and want to change the front banjo bolt on the caliper to an allen style bolt. I have contacted three Harley dealerships, and have gotten three different answers. One dealership said it was a 3/8 bolt, the other said it was a 10 mm, and the third said we don't know the size we just order the bolt by part number. I thought 2003 and earlier all had 3/8 and 7/16 banjo bolts on single disc front ends. After 2004 they started using 10mm and 12 mm. This should be a simple answer, but does not seem to be. Short of having to by a thread gauge can anyone help? Thanks All

This reminds me how great it would be to have a set of thread gauges. I have a complete set of chinese taps and dies that I bought at Harbor Freight on sale for around $15. Normally I would just set the tap along side the bolt and double check with the die. God only knows how cheap a set of thread gauges would be at HF but I'd bet they'd have them. This mixing of metric and standard bolts and nuts is getting to be real common on cars. Sounds like Harley thinks it's a good idea too.

Your caliper takes a 3/8 24 banjo bolt,your master cylinder takes a 7/16 24 banjo.Hope this helps.
