Angry brake problem

new to this,so bear with me.i have an '06 flhx.switched out the stock calipers for a pair of chrome h-d calipers(new).i also installed new brake lines.the problem i'm having is the calipers seem to be weeping fluid from the bleeder screw area.i've switched the screws out and same thing.tried using a little teflon tape too,no luck.only time fluid is seen is when i'm done riding, all over fender/caliper. any advice would be appreciated. trying to avoid having to replace these new calipers, need brakes for laconia.thx mahwoo

Hi Mah

You say Calipers--- you mean front and rear..?
Are they all weeping from the same place.?
And you are absolutely sure it's from the bleeder screws Not the brake-line connections..????

Do you still have the Stock OEM calipers.? Did you use those bleeder screws also,, with no results..??

Do they weep from the bleeder Hole or from the base/threads where it screws into the caliper body.?
If from the hole then the screw/s are prob not seating correctly into the seat in order to cut off flow..

If from the base/threads area, hmmm, I don't know what to tell ya..
Since you've Re-moved and Re-installed a couple diff screws, tightening them correctly I bet and the leak still persists, well, just gotta be something wrong with the threads.. Wish I had more..

front calipers are new, both are leeking, right side far more.it is definitely not the brake lines(new),or at the banjo bolt.tried using the stock bleeders,no luck.leak seems to be coming from the threads where the bleeder screws thread.only time it appears is after a ride;from high point at screw all way down caliper and on fender. nothing is on rotors or pads. thanks for the response.mahwoo

Well the threads do not seal the bleeder valve, the seat does where the tapered end hits. This sounds like a warranty issue what does your dealer say.
If it was an old set that had been chromed I would suggest re-facing the seat.
