GAs Man, white rice is a moisture absorber, doesn't work on micro bubbles :-). This thread is getting interesting.

I got out my copy of AM, April 2009, page 154, sure enough the first tech Q/A was about 2003's having this problem. Has to do with the location/size of the bleeder holes in the master cylinder.
The problem seemed more pronounced after the front brake pad change.
I also uncovered a Harley bulletin concerning squeeling brakes. HD switches the rotor direction to fix the squeel. They also check the rotor runout.

If potato chips worked the same as saltines do for the moisure... then do "Micro-chips" work on the Micro-bubbles????

Actually the position of the bleeder does make a lot of difference whether or not the bubbles can get out when bleeding the system.

I'm glad you guy's had some fun with this and I really didn't see it for myself, but it would be nice if the fix could cost the price of a small piece of sponge.

Thanks for laughing along with us on this... it just sounds wierd that it woud work. but with the new brake fluid, and chemicals they use to make it.... Anything is possible.
Wierder things have happened.

I put banana peals in a transmission once...and it quieted down the noise...so why not a sponge in the master cylinder????

I dont know if I would try it, but it is a kinda interesting consept, and would be neat if someone could put some more science behind how it works.

Does is work just like the contraseptive sponge???
