Default And Old Time Chopper Riders Here?

It seems the chopper thing comes around every 20 or 30 years. I'm old enough to remember the last batch of chopper riders.

I'm curious how many old time chopper riders are here. I've owned a lot of bikes over the years, but only one chopper, which I didn't like but knew I could buy cheap and sell for a profit quickly. It was a Honda in-line Four.

How about you?

Hey 47,

Had 3 choppers in the early 80's. Two Triumphs and a '63 Pan which had a Girder fork, drag bars & peanut tank. The pan I eventually rebuilt with an FL front end. I couldnt turn the pan around in the garage it was soo long. Heres one of the triumphs in a state of disrepair. Cant find the pics of the Girder pan but here's the rebuild pic after I rebuilt it for the second time. (didnt like the look first time) lack of experience proved costly.

Some of you guys have seen these already. I cant seem to get the photo album option on this site to work with my pics. Botz

Turip doesn't do it for me, but I do like the rigid frame Pan.

How'd you like the mousetrap clutch?

47 I had no issues with the mousetrap. I liked it. Had an enclosed dry clutch with a Primo Primary Belt Drive. Good running scoot. Botz

The first chopper I owned was in '75. It was a Ross Apollo 3-speed with stretched forks, rigid frame, banana saddle, 12" apes, and hand-shifter on the frame. Rootbeer copper brown color, if I recall correctly. They used to be given away as prizes on the classic kids TV show "Wonderama" and my parents were cool enough to buy me one for Christmas. It was a bitchin' bike.

Would you consider this good looking Panhead a chopper? I see it more as a custom or bobber. No long forks or crazy high bars.

Nice Panhead. Do you still own it?

Botzman..... Those are awesome scoots. I love the pan. I had a mousetrap on my 49, great clutch when adjusted properly. Wish I could upload pics on here. I'd show you my pan. I miss that scoot.

My first Hog was a 47 Knucklehead. Found it leaning against a guys house..Just about rusted shut.
This was my first time building a Harley.
