How many people here realized how long The Enthusiast Harley magazine has been in publication?



Long before Elvis got his 1956 flathead KHK, Harley published this magazine and distributed it free to tens of thousands of Harley owners.



And even before the 1940s Harley was publishing The Enthusiast magazine.

In fact Harley first published The Enthusiast, possibly the longest running Harley magazine, in 1916 and has done so since. Harley's marketing team created this magazine to inform potential customers of the latest developements and latest Harley products. It also acted as a promotional tool for the company and told users what was going on in the company.



This promotional Harley magazine changed over the years as Harley riders' expectations and fashion changed.

Distribution of Harley-Davidson’s Enthusiast magazine topped one million copies for the first time with the Winter 2004 issue. Currently, the magazine is sent out to all current and some past Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members, all Harley-Davidson Inc. employees and anyone else interested in news about the Company, its products and activities.

Harley claims The Enthusiast, in publication since 1916, is the longest continuously published motorcycle magazine in the world, as well as the motorcycle magazine with the largest circulation. In addition to sharing the latest news about Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the magazine provides information about Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories, MotorClothes, racing and the Motor Company in general.

You can often find old copies of The Enthusiast and other Harley magazines on ebay, Craigslist and at motorcycle swap meets.
