Default G2 Drag Racing Press Release

RIVAS QUALIFIES FOURTH
FOR SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT SOUTHERN NATIONALS

COMMERCE, Ga., April 26, 2008 - Chris Rivas drove his G2 Motorsports/Drag Specialties/S&S Cycle V-Twin into the fourth position for tomorrow's Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals here at the Atlanta Dragway on the strength of a 7.008-second elapsed time at 189.10 miles per hour in
today's third qualifying round.
Rivas, who comes into this event tied for eighth in the 2008 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle championship-point standings after the season's first two events, begins Sunday's eliminations from his best qualifying position of the season.
"We now are running the way I always expected we would," said the 41-year-old Fresno, Calif., native who joined the team just prior to the beginning of the season. "Now we can really get going; start going rounds, which is what we all knew this motorcycle was capable of doing. "We always had the power; we just needed to get a handle on it."
Sunday's race marks the first time the rider of the S&S proven-performance-powered V-Twin qualified in the top-half of the field and he did it with his best qualifying E.T. of the season. He will face Eddie Murphy, who qualified 13th with a 7.101-second E.T. at 187.99 mph, in the first round.
"I'm feeling really good," Rivas added. "The entire team's confidence is up."

A nice shiny new section. Great!

Interesting info on the S&S motor.

The S&S motor in question is custom built for NHRA pro stock bike racing. Nice looking motor though with all of the billet aluminum. I wonder if I can get one for my softail.
