You're right. I've been telling everyone that I had more fun that weekend than I've had in a long time. The total experience was what made it so great. You, Dale, Brian, Gary and Harleycruiser, the guy with the VW and his family, all the other people and their collection of machines, the speed, hearing the strong motors, smelling the exhaust fumes and the speed all combined with a great challenging ride to and from there made a lasting impression that I will not soon forget.

Maxton is always fun but like you guys said this was over the top.
If we do it again, we should plan on meeting up at Deals gap and ridding down.
Buzz you should pick up an old Indian, or a old board racer and ride it down from the mountains then racing it at Maxton.
How cool would that be.
Least we need to do is maybe getting together at Daytona next spring.
I’m about a hundred miles from there with some pretty nice roads in between.
Ride over to my place one evening have a barbecue, bonfire, spend the night ride back the next morning. I have plenty of room, live in the woods with no neighbors.
Maybe Wright, some of the Florida guys can make it this time.

Default Maxton

Hey Guys,

Count me in. Definitely in for Daytona since I am less than 50 miles. I wish I could have made it to Maxton. Several factors combined to keep me from going. Wife should be able to ride by Daytona .

I did get in a short ride that weekend with MMA , one of our members visiting central Fla from England. I may have convinced him to give up cold weather and move here.

Hi, in case any of you here wants to get in on the fun at the Maxton Mile land speed racing next year, here are the dates for next year.

They are April 4/5, May 16/17, June 27/28, Sept 19/20 and Oct 24/25 2009.

I believe Dale Walksler and pals are planning on building 1 or 2 assault weapons for next year and I am playing with an idea for something other than my 1931 Harley V some time next year.

Who else is up for this?

Hey Buzz and others, I'm thinking May and/or June. April is too early for me and might be too cold still. Besides April flowers......

We've got Buzz's Maxton story in the April 2009 AIM issue, currently in pre-production. Look for it sometime in mid to late February.
