Vryquik, I am not an expert, I have never raced there, but pretty sure there is no separate category for baggers. That is a self proclaimed category.
You would compete in engine class, with similar engine modifications. IE; stock, modified, gas, push rod, streamline, un-faired ect.
And Maxton is different than Bonneville, so there are different records.
The nice thing about Maxton is it is very casual, lot of nice people, people just like us, that just like to go fast and build bikes in their garage.
A great place to see a lot of speed and cool bikes. You should plan on taking your bike, run it just for fun, or just watch.
If you get hooked then plan on a specialty class.
Try to find a class that has a record that you think you could break.
Buzz found a class that did not have any records so every time he and Dale ran they broke a record, how neat is that.
They ran in two different classes, so they both own one.
I don’t remember but think Dale ran in a smaller displacement class.
There are safety rules, and they change according to top MPH, things like wired axles, and certain bolts. Helmet requirements, and racing leathers, one that stuck out in my case was no solid front wheels, like on my Fatboy, they have to be at least 25pecent holed, or something like that. So I could not run with stock wheels.
And there are driver requirements, according to speed.
