Has anyone else noticed how much the Harley drag racing action seems to have fallen off in the last year or so?

I understand the economy is hurting the sport and many of the sponsors, and gas isn't cheap. Are there other issues here?

The HD drag racing series was just too long. They had 13 races, all over the country. The shops that sponsor the bikes and riders were having trouble getting to enough races to have a shot in the points standings. They backed it up to 7 or 8 races and that will be easier on the pocketbooks of the racing teams.
