Default 300 rear on a Harley Rocker ?

Hi Guys/Gals...

quick thought...anyone out there considered or already tried to fit a 300 section tire on a Harley Rocker ? I have a Rocker C and this is what im considering doing. I love the Rocker but want it to resemble the custom chops more then it currently does.

is this possible or a pipedream ?

Sam

Hi Sammy,

Anything is possible!!!! you will need to fit a right side drive tranny on there to keep the primary from being offset so far that you cant turn left. I have a 240 on my BMC and the primary drags on left hand turns all the time.

The right hand drive, may be spendy, well, it is spendy, and the way it fit's into the frame is most likely so different that a complete frame mod will hafta be done. But then, anything is possible with adream, determination, and a big wallet.

When I looked into changing mine over, I found the motor/trans length is longer on the right hand drive unit, so the frame needed to be stretched, as well as widened, but that was already figured. and there were other factors that made me feel like my offset primary was just fine. If you can get somewhere to look at a Big Dog, you will see the difference. take a tape measure and park next to it to do the comparison, then you will see how much needs to be done.

The Big Dog with a 300 rear tire felt so much more balanced than mine, I couldnt believe it. It was at a show, so they only let me set on it, and not test ride it. Too bad, I may have traded mine in for thiers (plus another $12k)...... oh well.
