Just ordered my single bore tuned induction system. Putting it on my '05 ironhorse tejas 111. thinking of delaying any tuning until my wallet fattens back up a little. any opinions on the intake itself or the need to have it dyno tuned?
looking for carb tuning advise... got my intake, was missing parts, got my missing parts & installed the whole thing... runs awefull... bogs out if i give it anything more than just a little gas. tried all the adjusments that came with the instructions, but not having any luck.
I'm gonna try the recommended process on more time, and then i guess its off to the shop.
Gosh you haven't told us what Carb/s you're running or anything other than it runs crappy..
Does each of those Air Intake runners feed a single cylinder.?
Sooooo, tell us----
What carb/s & how big..?
Are you running straights or mufflers.?
What kind of Intake Manifold is the carb/s bolted to.?
What jets and/or needles and/or peroshki's are in the carb/s.?
A Bog right off idle or even running down the blvd with a wee twist of the wick is usually a lean condition AND/OR Tooooo Big a Venturi..
I suspect tooo much carburation per cylinder and crappy tuning..
Operators are standing by,,talk to us........

I also wanted the dual runner you first suggested. I like the looks WAY BETTER than the second option. As a matter of fact, I opted not to buy second because no matter how well it works, it's just BONE UGLY.
definately crappy tuning, this is my first try. its an S&S super g carb. came stock with the s&s 111. both intake runners run into the single carb. stock 2 into 1 exaust pipe. stock manifold. stock jets. (what's a peroshki?).
the guys at the shop of course say bring it in... needs new jets. this guy used to be my old ironhorse dealer, now that the dealer is closed he's got a service shop at a new location.
Yeah, it sounds like it simply needs a tune-job..
The G is Not too big (venturi) for a 111"..
Doesn't sound like anything else is tooo exotic, cool..
You can Never predict what "Stock" jets come with an S&S..
I've gotten G's with .295's and 74'S and with 32's and 78's,,,, wide diff..
I would be willing to Wild guess that a 31 Intermediate and a 76 main would at least get you in the Ball-Park with some fine tuning poss needed..
If your timing is not Smack on, it should be before all the jetting efforts..
I am leary about the amount of air the two Intake Runners allow into the G..
I bet a dime to a doughnut the Stock S&S A/C will allow more air..
If I am correct about that, then all your jetting efforts will be like trying to make a----- kinda-sorta ---- Race Horse run a race wearing a restrictive mask..
In-other-words, you'd be kinda "jetting down"..
Ooh---- a peroski is kinda a deep fried Russian Hambuger,,, delishious with Vodka..

thanks for your reply frisco. sounds like a job for the pro's to me. guess i'll take it in and see what happens...
if they tell me they're "jetting down", i'll be putting the old pieces back on and packing the new ones up for return... i'd rather be stock & run fast, than look good & be slow.
as for as the peroski... wonder if it goes good with beer?
Really, jetting is as basic as it gets, it is waaaay better for you to feel it after a jetting change and re-adjust,,,, than trying to convey what you feel to someone else that, well, let me be delicate here,,,,, doesn't really give a rats ass how your motor runs as long as you got money every time you come in..
You installed it right.? C'mon, you can do it..
Let me put it this way young man....
If you don't get that Float bowl off and check what jets are in it,,,, No Perozhki and No beer for you..!!
SA Tex huh..
Is that San Angelo, Texas.?
I had some Hand-Made boots made there once..
Is Rusty Franklin and M.L. Leddy still making boots there.?
