Default Share Your Knowledge & Help Save $$$

This is a new section for members to share their ideas and discoveries that others can do on or with their bikes on a budget.

Got a part or procedure that is less expensive than the norm? Share it here.

We would like to print some of the better ideas in American Iron Magazine. If we print your idea you will get a free one year subscription or extension to American Iron Magazine.

Money is tight, but that doesn't mean we can't get creative with our motorcycles.

Hi Buzz

Ooh Yeah, this is a real good idea..

I have always tried to steer our Cats n kittys to a more economical method or place to get parts if I'm able to, and I will continue to do so..

For cleaning the rear wheel, rim and other aluminum parts I've starting using Shout laundry treatment and an old fashioned bottle brush. To measure out various ozs. measurements I purchased baby bottles with ounce increments on the sides.

hey guys,

When I first got my 1996 FXDWG it was to tall. I went to the long beach harley swapmeet and purchased a lepera seat. The siloutte model, two inches slimmer and at least two inches lower than the harley pillow seat. brand new, guy bought it and never mounted it...cost me 35 dollars. At the same swap meet I bought a rear spoked rim because i hate the solid aluminum rims and think every bike should have spokes front and back, brand new...25 dollars.
These bike swapmeets have everything you could possibly want for your bike and prices are great.

Wideglidebill.
