After purchasing my 08 Road King I started the process of turning my 97 Superglide into a solo rider. The first things to go were the two up seat, sissy bar, pad and luggage rack. Continuing on I also removed the passenger pegs along with their brackets. For those of you familiar with the Dyna there is a mount on the right side, down and to the left of the battery box which is welded to the frame. Not wanting to start cutting on a perfectly good stock frame I had to come up with an idea to use this mount and have it look as if it was made for this purpose. Leaving this mount just hanging out there was not an option. I've always had this bad habit of forgetting my registration and insurance card every time that I went for a ride and I wasn't about to spend a c-note plus for a fancy billet tube that mounts to your down tubes plus it looks butt ugly anyway! So I went to my favorite catalog and purchased a chrome spark plug holder for $15 and then to my local home improvement center and picked up a couple of #32 machine screws, about a half a buck. I then cut the bracket to length, put plumbers putty on the back of the plug holder to position it where I wanted it then took a razor blade to cut out the impression that it left then coated that area with dye chem blue, drilled two holes and then realigned the plug holder and once again used dye chem blue to mark the two holes I just drilled onto the bracket. Drilled and tapped the bracket and walla! Roll em up and they fit perfectly where the spark plugs would normally go. Looks trick! I haven't decided what to do with the left side bracket yet. Toolbox? Sidemount license plate maybe?
Good work....yep, gotta have those papers to show "the man" if stopped.

John 1:14
It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD. ----Abraham Lincoln
I new someone would be asking for pictures. I still use a 35mm camera but I guess it's about time I purchase a digital so I can post some pictures. I still haven't posted pictures of my 08 Road King yet which I had promised a couple of months ago. Soon.
Oh yeah, go digital, Myt Evo. My 35 mm gathers dust. Good digitals are cheap now. I bought a 2 megapixel Olympus in early 02 for $600....when my son, Aaron headed to Russia in June of 08 I bought an 8 megapixel Canon for $130.

I keep my registration and insurance in the plastic document holder the insurance company gave me. Glued a magnet I found in the "junk drawer" to the document holder and placed it on the frame under the seat. Use a hand tightening seat hold down ($15) to secure the seat.
