Default Battery Wire Holder

I always hook up my battery tender each time i am finished riding. Since the engine is very hot and i do not want the wire from the charger that hooks to the quick disconnect on the battery to get melted while it lays on the primary case, i constructed a stand consisting of a 2x4 base and a 1 inch dowel rod, and a metal bracket (actually a hook). I drilled a hole in the center of the 2x4 block (measures about 8" long by 4" wide) and drove the dowel rod into the hole. The dowel rod i used is about 14" long. Then attached the metal hook bracket to the top of the dowel rod.
When i hook up the connection, i then drape the wire over the hook and this keeps the charger wire off the hot engine, till it is cooled.
I hope this does not sound too trivial, but i hate burned and melted wires.
I have attached a photo of the stand.
