Default Head lamp Replacement

Okay my PIAA Extreme Headlamp burnt out. I will have to look back and see how many miles it lasted.

I have to start learning how to save dough. I no longer have the funds I use too. Oh about 65% Less than before.

I found in the Sylvania Silverstar line up for Auto's The bulb that fits a 2003 Ford Escape also fits my 2004 Sporster. Same draw/watts as the PIAA.

I use these bulbs in my cage and like them. Well for less than $20.00 I picked one up and installed it. Works just as good if not better. Nice bright Clear white light. Now we will see how long it lasts.

PIAA run about $40.00 a bulb

Stock Harley Bulb is $23.95

Sylvania Siverstar at Wall-mart was under $20.00 and A two bulb pack was under $40.00

Thumbs up

JC
As I read the above, it reoccured to me that 2 years/seasons ago I'd burned out the headlight bulb on my bike one night and just popped into the closest Auto Supply store for one "just to get me home" on. I almost grabbed a pretty standard $7** Sylvania Halogen, for my 5-3/4" light..but opted (why not) for their $11** bulb claiming 30% brighter. It was a definate improvement over my orig. HD bulb (brigtness & distance)and as it's still in there......

NOTE: I may be off a bit on those prices (oldztimers disease) but not by much.

My experience with the silverstar is the bright white ones burn out quick. I got the regular silver star last time and no issues so far.

I wouldn't suggest going with the high wattage bulbs... bad for the wiring and the lamp.

As Adjure says for their warrenty

Quote:
WARRANTY
ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. WARRANTY IS VOID IF HIGHER WATTAGE OR BLUE TINT BULBS ARE
USED, AS THESE WILL CAUSE HIGHER TEMPERATURES IN THE LAMP AND CREATE FOGGING AND OTHER
PROBLEMS. THIS COULD ALSO BURN, MELT OR CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS IN YOUR WIRING SYSTEM.
Instead considering going with a HID. I did...
