Default 2001 magnetti merelli

I am sure this one has been kicked around several times! I have a 2001 flhpi with the magnetti merelli injection system on it, I have done several mods on the motor: a power commander, 95 ci big bore kit, stage one air cleaner and true duals with rinehart exhaust, the problem is I just had it dynoed three times once for the pre-breakin period and once after the breakin period, well after this second dyno the bike started skipping after shifting and then also at high speeds, then it started dying at idle, well I took it back to hd and they redynoed it, well they called me back after the dyno and said that the fuel position sensor was jumping back and resetting itself, and the injection system has taken a crap. anyway I want to get rid of this magnetti merelli injection system and the hd people said the best thing I could do was convert it to a carburator, I was actually looking at the thundermax conversion and I was looking through my hd shopmanual and just looking at all the sensor connectors that will not be used after the mm is pulled out scares the crap ou tof me......dont want a bike with all these connectors hanging everywere...looks like you would have to change out the wiring harness as well! wouldnt mind going back to a carb, but it looks like a lot of trouble, a lot more than the thundermax system! anyone have any sugestions? thanks Mike

S&S makes a vfi system which will replace many of the MM parts including the computer but its not a cheap set up. You can even add on O2 sensors to run a closed loop system. I have been doing research to improve my delphi system in my FXSTBI.

It's been a while since I've been online but here is an update. I just purchased a Thunder-max efi tuner after getting frustrated with finding any one who could even sell me a S&S unit. I believe it to will work with M&M system. I'll write back in late march most likely since I'm snow bound and can't ride now.
