uncleguy:

How often do you ride? If the bike is still warm you may not hear it on startup. Do you delay a tad when you turn your key I assume? Does the
bike act up or starve for gas while you are riding?

When bike is cold, sat over night. Put your ear down by the pump when you turn the key. You should hear something. Even if its a quiet something.

If you do not hear anything but the bike aint starving down the free way you may have a loose or broken wire.

Start checking your wires. Battery which is easiest and then check the ignition to pump.

My bike is carbureted gravity fed. I do know the pump on my cage did quiet down a bit after it was well broken in. Some parts just wear good and do get quiet. I would not be worried unless I was getting fuel starvation at cruising speed or it refused to start up from lack of gas.
