Hey MYT,

The tank delivery post above was the day before yesterday's action! Since you mentioned it here I'll throw the story up here for the helluvit. Here goes:

Almost got killed today at a wake. A priest pulling in to the lot lost control of his car. I think he hit the gas instead of the brakes. I was about to enter my car when he came within 1 foot of me and crashed over a curb, through a chain link fence and was wedged under a 6 foot chain link fence. He was stuck on the curb and tried to back the car up ripping his trunk deck off at the same time. Then he shot forward totally destroying his entire car. It was a close one for me. He finally got all the way through into the next parking lot and came back around to my side where he said the accelerator stuck. I thought maybe he had a few under his belt. Then I went to my local bank and the cops had the whole thing roped off. They were robbed at gunpoint today. What a day! And I live in a good neighborhood...LOL!! Glad to be home.

Incidentally, the wake I went to was for a bike mechanic whose mother passed. He recently move to FL. and now lives in Palm Coast and is opening his own bike shop down there. I highly recommend him if anyone lives in the area and needs an outstanding wrench. Anyone interested just ask. While he was up for the wake he also told me a rider he introduced me to while I was at Biketoberfest was involved in a head-on collision. Alcohol was involved and he crossed the double yellow line on a curve. Nice guy.......sad. I should have videoed the priest with my cell phone but I dont think that quick anymore. Take care all be safe. Botz

Default Wow

Quite a story, Botz. I always am amazed by those stories of older drivers who get mixed up and mash the gas instead of the brake. You would think muscle memory from 60-70 years of driving would make it a rare occurance but it's not.
It's scary to think we're sharing the road with people who are that far gone.

Default amazing story

botzman
sounds like a close one for sure...on both counts. The wake story was incredible and you are a lucky man in more ways than one. Go buy a lottery ticket.

Makes me wonder if you didn't see all the excitement at the wake you may have been in the bank at the time of the robbery
cheers!

Hotrodad,

Ya know didnt think of that. We have had a rash of bank robberies here on Long Island. More frequent then not. My personal bank was hit this time. Alot of the surrounding ones have been hit with few arrests. Yeah, I think I've had my share of excitement for a while. I want a nice quiet riding season this year...looking forward to it. Stay safe and be careful out there....it's a jungle! LOL! Botz
