Rocket fuel is Iron Diclopentadienyl ferrocene,,, I don't remember where, but I read once that's it's not good for your motor, and plain old kerosene...
Unfortunately most of the manufacturers do not put the ingredients on the lable anymore so ya don't know what you're getting...
NOS uses MMT and in the race/offroad mixture there is 5% nitrous, I called em a few years back and confirmed that... I've used it and it's OK...
If I must, I try to use boosters with Dimethlybenzene(xylene) or Trimethlybenzene(tolulene) and of course most of em have MMT too... I'm going out on a limb here because I don't know anything about the new "mappable" motors, just motors in general, but I bet that "max HP mapping" is just mostly faster rate of advance with not enough fuel increase to match it, just a guess...
I think the best octane booster is a slower rate of advance especially with a heavy bike like yours and of course race fuel... 1 gal. of 110 with 4 of 91 gives ya 94.8,,, waaay more than any of the boosters will give ya... Boosters only increase points not numbers,i.e. 91 to 91.7 etc...
I'm sure you know this already, octane only gives you increased resistance to detonation, not necessarily more power... If the booster has less BTU's than the gas you're mixing it with you can lose power but of course you won't detonate...

Jeeeze I hate it when I don't remember someting properly...
I must have mixed up the Iron Diclo Ferrocne with something else, it is in fact used as an anti-knock agent in gasoline, jeeeze shoot me not and get it over with...

thanks guys for the input, I am not looking for HP, just to control the pinging, I am going to remap for a little more fuel, and try the boosters you mentioned. thx

I like the Lucas Oil gas treatment. It doesn't up the octane, but my Sporty sure loves the stuff! I buy premuim or ultra-premium gas and ad the Lucas and away I go. If I don't run the Lucas it's a noticeable difference. Sunoco has a 94 octane, and Mobil has 91, which seems to be all my bike needs.
