Default Fuel Milage

So I decided to check fuel milage on my 05 Springer and was amazed that it got 49.5 MPG. It's a carb motor with the baffles out of the stock mufflers and the bottom end richened up just a bit. Most of the time my sweetie rides with me and neither one of us is gonna blow away in a light breeze.

Pretty cool......)

Ride safe

On my '02 Lowrider (re-jetted, re-piped, K&N filter) I will vary between 48 and 52 depending on speed, wind, and whether or not the wife is along.
Usually mostly highway riding, around 65mph unless passing someone etc.

My 08 FLHR with shown mods averages 32/36 mpg city. Hwy 37/41 mpg. Next spring I'm going to find a experienced tuner and dyno it.

My stock '06 Low Rider got an average 37 mpg on daily riding to work, etc. It got 45 mpg once on a trip cruising an average 50-55 speed limits.
After adding Rush slipons w/2" baffles, SE a/c and PC USB III I can adjust my riding habits for about 40 mpg daily and about 44 to 46 on highway runs at less than 70 mph.
I still beat all of the other vehicles my family drives.

It's funny that "Hogs" are one of the most fuel efficient bikes on the market.

I have a VROD and the air cooled motors blow it out of the water for fuel mileage. I can get at best 42mpg.

Hey Tbone, my bike is similar, except I have an Andrews 26G cam. I would be interested in the map use have for your bike as I am getting some popping on decel with mine.

If you can tell me how to get a map off my bike I'd be glad to give it to you. Mine pops on decel depending on how I ride. I had the bike tuned by Cajun HD and it has more power. Quite frankly I figure if this guy at Cajun (who I hear is very good) tuned it and was satisfied, then who am I to question his tuning abilities since I don't have a dyno and know nothing about tuning EFI.

Sometimes I wonder if stock bikes pop on decel but the stock pipes are so choked that you just can't hear it.

I'll look into how to get the map off my bike. I'm sure there were some instructions somewhere.

What does the cam do for you different than my stock cam?

Hey Tbone, first of all the cam is gear drive alleviating the problem with the chanin drive set up, secondly it provides more torque. I talked to Mr Andrews himself explaining my need. My wife and I ride in the mountains of NC. We are not light weights so I wanted a little more torque without having to do the 95" route yet. I wanted to fix the cam problem and while at it a got a cam that will also work in the 95" when I manage to get it done. It has done a good job. I get between 39 and 40 with mixed riding. Don't know what it will give me on just a touring ride. Probably in the low 40's. My sitiuation is like yours, runs good with some decel popping. I am getting the impression that is the way it going to be. Thanks

Now I don't feel so bad about my mileage on my Train. If I stay out of it I get about 40 mpg with a hopped up 95".

My 01 Electra Glide will average 44-45 mpg running in the 50-60 mph range on back roads with few stops. Interstate running a consistent 70 mph I get 37-40 mpg. Town riding it drops to 34-36 mpg. I've been checking it often over the last year. I reckon its pretty good for a bagger. Ride safe..Clif
