Default Fuel Filters

Any reason or recommended way to filter the fuel going into the carb or EFI?

I know in the past we had issues with small crap making it to the carb and eventually doing damage. Is this still an issue with modern fuel systems?

Hey Bag

With EFI the fuel must be very clean mostly cuz of the very tight tolerances in the fuel pump.. That's why Big Rigs and little EFI cars like mine have huge fuel filters..
But, I don't even run a filter on my carb sickles cuz if the petcock filter is in perfect condition it will prevent tank debris from getting past..
However, once in awhile I'll see some incredibly small solids in the bottom of my float bowl and that's where they stay.. They don't get into the system cuz the bottom of the bowl is usually waay deep in the drain plug recess..

I've actually put my bowls back on with the stuff in there (cuz I don't wanna waste the gas) and it's still there the next time I remove the bowl, their weight prevents them from mixing..

My experience anyway..
