I have a 2004 electric glide classic when u start up cold runs 2min then stalls or wants to stall. With EFI. also at times when cold will rev to 2000. The bike idle is erratic when cold. Does anyone have any ideas.

Sounds like you may have a blockage in your fuel system or your tank aint breathing. Check fuel cap and vent hose on tank for any problems. Clog in the Petcock or fuel line. Take the petcock out and clean it up. Take off the fuel line and check for any clogs. Would be a good time to add a fuel filter if you dont have one. Orrrr yer Mini Computer for your EFI lost its brains and may need to be looked at.

Do you have the manual for your bike? Have you pulled up any trouble codes? On cold start up the ecm controls the ISC actuator. After the engine is warm does everything work properly?

Just a note: There seems to be a few fuel problems popping up lately and maybe it's just coincidence but winter has just ended and riding season has begun. Could it be the winter prep thats causing the problem? For some reason alot of riders seem to follow the old rules for preping! Ie, shutting the fuel valve off and running it until it runs out of fuel and/or draining the fuel bowl. The best thing you can do is fill your tank as much as you can, put in the proper amount of STABIL run it, shut it down and let it sit. Problem solved! Ok before someone makes a smart ass remark, i know fuel is for diesel powered vehicles. I mean "GAS".

The first sign is the check engine lamp.It should shut off after 4 seconds. You really need to have the manual to go much further. The check engine light will flash a specific amount for which trouble code exsists. The fuel injection system has many parts to it and many variables. Its probably just a sensor giving the ecm a false or intermitent reading.
