| | bike stalls at stop This has happened 3 times in the last month. When I come to a stop sign , my rpms drop and the bike stalls. It sounds like it is starving for gas. But it starts right back up and I don't have any problems the rest of the ride. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

| | Re: bike stalls at stop My 07 Heritage did the same thing. I looked at several things, but it was the throttle motor. A little cleaning and it is fine. |

| | Re: bike stalls at stop I assume you close the throttle when coming to a stop so I would be curious if it stalls while stopping or just when you actually stop. If it does it when actually coming to a stop could it be the clutch dragging? I always start in neutral if possible and the few times I have started in gear after I stalled the engine I could feel the drag. The drag might be different depending on how hot the clutch plates are. If it stalls before coming to a stop, I would go with the idle control motor mentioned above.

Throttle position?
Fuel pressure?
I would think if it was a sensor, it would throw a trouble code for a sensor out of tolerance.
Could be a lot of things. I'm sure that one of the mechanics on here will post what, in their experience, is the best place to start troubleshooting. Keep checking back.

| | Re: bike stalls at stop Buzz, I'm thinking its EFI if he's asking about O2 sensors.
My guess is that you are experiencing a drop in voltage someplace. Perhaps there is an electrical drain on the system when you put on your tail lights? Maybe a brake light wire is grounded out?

| | Re: bike stalls at stop It's possible that the engine speed is set too low,do you have a tach? RPMs should be 950-1050 when hot.
