 Mikuni Part Throttle Whistle
Well finally got about a 45 minute ride with the new carb - better idle than the CV, needs a bit more slow jet and main jet. Has the stock 25 and 160 right now. (I am just at 7/8 turn out for best idle with the air screw)
The one thing that bugged me is a 1/4 throttle, moderate load run up. The thing whistles, like an underwater whistle sound. Light load part throttle, and 1/2 to full throttle, no noise. The CV, which I had just run with several days ago, didn't do this. I double checked for intake seal leaks, all OK. This noise is pretty annoying, since it isn't overcome by the 2-1 V&H loud exhaust. Hints? Thanks!
PS: I am using, for now, the stock petcock so the vacuum line is hooked up, and the emissions purge port is capped as it was out of the box. |
