Does anybody know of a way I can change the title on my 2000 FXR4 to a 1977 FXR4 and get away with it. I just know there's some seriously focused demented minds out there working on this at this very moment. I'm gettin' nervous about this whole thing.

Don`t blame you. You can keep those going forever. I have an old brit bike but parts are getting too hard to come by. Just can`t bring myself to sell it and can`t afford to ride it much.

Now if I could get S&S interested in another v twin ???????

Hi Wrightturn
As far as parts for your Brit-Bike goes..have you tried going thru "British Only" ? In case you're not (?) aware, they're an outfit in Garden City MI that deals in all that world-wide. Yeah, and, although I have'nt dealt with them in AWHILE now..they always came thru with whatever! Website is britishonly.com

Default The Vincent's gotta be a keeper

Yep, Wrightturn. I'd keep hanging on to that Vincent if I were you. I had a 70 Triumph Trophy 650 for about a year. It got a little hazardous what few times I rode it, trying to make my brain remember which foot to use to find the rear brake.
I worked with a guy who had a 74 Norton 850 Commando. I brought it home and replaced the head gasket for him, replaced the long neglected battery, and tried to clean out the fuel tank and carbs which were fouled by sour gas. That was the most cantankerous bike I have ever tried to kick start. He kept telling me the starting drill and what a cinch it was. I delivered it to him, asked him if he started it. "Are you crazy, I've got to work everyday I can't be messing up my leg", he replied. To the best of my knowledge he's still got it parked.

When the Car emissions testing hit our state (Now Gone). I put in a pre 1978 motor in my car. They used the serial number off the block not the car. I was made EXEMPT! So back at em..............

Default Keeper

Have used British Only for Triumph but not much out there for Vincent. You won`t believe the price of a gasket set. I have almost enough parts for a total rebuild but the thing runs great and hasn`t been apart since 1974. They were never hard to start if you knew the drill. The bike is a 1952 and was rebuilt right after I got it. Rode it from Norfolk to Daytona in 74. Could write a book about that trip but better I don`t remember.

If you took a knucklehead frame and title and put a current S&Sengine in it what regs would you have to comply with ? Have nothing against a pan or shovel just like the idea of a knuckle that wouldn`t leak. Florida has no state inspection and the idea is tempting.
