Exclamation E10

Was reading an outdoor magazine while at the E.N.&T Dr. and found out that 10% ethanol reduces HP by 28%. Yet some of our powers that be in DC (and not the tree-huggers, either) want to mandate it to be 15%, which not only will further rob power but will trash the rubber, and whatever else it can eat, in our scoots.

Here in Missouri the law allows up to 15% ethanol without even posting it on the pump.
We are stuck with the loss of power and fuel mileage, and of course stuck with the repair bill from whatever damage is done.
It's all political. Farmers and ethanol producers make profits from it, the environmental impact is considerable, despite what the greenies claim...it takes a lot of energy to distill the stuff.

The greenies I know have abandoned corn produced ethanol as their "solution" to dependence on petro oil. They are saying it uses more diesel fuel to grow the corn than it saves. This madate for ethanol is also directly responsible for our food costs going thru the roof. $4.00 for a loaf of bread! $6.00 a lb for chuck steak! $5.00 for a box of cereal! All as a result of incredible acreage going strictly for corn production and ethanol mandates. Bad policy all around.

Treehuggers are famous for banding together and forcing their will on the rest of the populace even though most of the time their "earth-saving" ideas do more harm than good – to people AND the environment.

They certainly didn't think the ethanol thing through before shoving it down our throats. Using E-10 consumes more gasoline than using pure gasoline, because you have to use well over 10% more E-10 to go the same distance as with real gas.

Less power, fewer miles per gallon, caustic to rubber, steel and aluminum, costs more to use, worse for the environment.

If treehuggers were serious about improving the quality of life, they'd stop reproducing.

i agree about the tree huggers not reproducing.
the funny thing about tree huggers is.. use to be, I and the family would go camping and dirt bike riding, when we got to the site we were gonna camp at, we would set up camp, walk around and pick up all te trash and generally just police and clean the area we were camping at. when we were thru camping, the site looked better and cleaner than when we got there so that the next camper would have a clean place to camp.
Now, have you ever watched the so called tree huggers camp? well i have, while they were bitching about all the mess our bikes were doing to the environment. they left and i have never seen more of a mess, trash strewn all over, food left to rot, cans and bottles everywhere. this was not a one time incident, have seen it many times. tree huggers are pig's and they should just leave us the hell alone.(wideglide gets off of soap box and because of advancing age isn't able to ride HARLEY for a week, soap box was to tall, hard to get up on)
