Maddog, You know your dealer better than anybody so do you think that they're yanking your chain or do you think that they're being straight up with you? It's just hard to believe that they're going to shoot the goose that layed the golden egg! I'll swing by a dealer tomorrow and let you know what i'm hearing up here in the northeast. MTYEVO....don't know if they are pullin' my chain or not but one thing I did notice in this particular dealership from the last few times I've been there is the lack performance parts i.e. heads, kits, pipes, etc. on display and only one Screaming Eagle bike on the floor. ???? OK Maddog, I talked to three different dealers this morning and all three said that the only thing that's being discontinued is the screamin eagle exhausts. When i asked them if everything else is still going to be available ie, heads, cams, ignitions etc, they said yes the only glitch was the last dealer who said everything else is still going to be available "for now". Hey mty, madd, you certainly know how much I detest these new un-American EPA regulations and restrictions but jeeeze guys don't fret so much about HD not carrying hi-po stuff, it's all available in the after-market and I bet a dime to a doughnut that it will be for some time...
Get some catalogs and make yer wish-lists... Lots of guys are going to have to learn to do, not just wish, if they can't get stuff installed at a shop but the good news is that it's all still available...

I purchase 99.9% of my parts from the aftermarket frisco, HD is the last place i go to!!!!! I'm just trying to keep abreast of whats going on with the EPA and so far the dealerships seem to be the best places to get that info, plus alot of riders do go to the dealers, so i'm just trying to give them any info that i might have from this part of the country. I just received a 2006 HD parts supplement and Screamin Eagle parts are in there.Only difference is the mufflers for 06 bikes have cats in them. 05 and earlier have mufflers still listed with no cats in them. Posted by: depotdude on Mar 29, 06 8:50:01 am | | |
