Have 07 FLHTC. Want to install oil cooler. Bought adapter kit HD#26133-07. The gasket HD#26115-05 does not seem to fit over the adapter properly. Instructions show flanges on the adapter going thru slots on the gasket, but this just don't work. Either the instuctions are wrong or the wrong gasket was shipped with kit. Anyone else have this problem or can explain how this gasket is supposed to fit? Appreciate any help.
I have had a few instructions from HD that were not correct. Check with the dealer to make sure they ordered you the correct part. I have had more incorrect parts ordered then correct ones. Now I go in with the part number. I verify we are seeing the same.
The service guys most likley will give you some instruction without charge. If instructions are not correct contact HD and request they change it so no one else gets hosed.
Thanks for the tip. I did ask the service guys at the local dealer and they said to place the gasket in such a way that was contrary to the instructions. The instructions also added a caution that if gasket was not put on properly it could lead to problems. hence why I posted this question. I've ordered another gaket to see if theres any difference.
