Default Six-Cycle Engine?

Just read about a couple of new engines under development by Lotus and by Bosch using two power strokes for every exhaust storoke.

The thinking is the engines will ne smaller and lighter AND they will produce more power and torque than any gas or diesal engines.

Default Cool Stuff

Yeah Buzz, I checked it out. Bruce Crower of Crower Cams fame has been working on a six-stroke as well.

Pop Mech has a bit on a guy using old tech to make a new sixer. I think they're basing it on old steam tech as well. I think Jay Leno might have touched this off to some extent with auto makers. He'd show the car guys that would visit his restoration garage the old steam engines where both the back and forth/up and down would produce power, making "insane amounts of power for it's day" (I believe that's the Leno quote).
