Question Power Commander Or Terminal Velocity?

Why Would I Use A Power Commander That Locks Me Into A Preset Mapping And Does Not Change With My Engine Modifications/environment? Example;altitude, gas Quality, towing A Trailer? Wouldn't Terminal Velocity Be The Overwhelming Choice Here? Is There Something That I'm Not Seeing? My Bike Is A Fuel Injected 05 Roadking Classic With Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner,slip-on Exhaust,s&s Gear Set With A Crane 505 Cam, And Harley Stage 1 Mapping,(i Think The Stage 1 Mapping Was A Mistake Because Of The Raw Gas I Smell Now)?i Have Never Seen Gas Mileage Over 35 Mpg. Without Trailer And Between 22-27 Mpg. With Trailer. My Trailer Weighs 250 Lbs. Loaded.

Default Gotcha

I know what you mean Hawgman. As time goes by more companies are going to develop good closed loop systems that will be able to self adjust to a large degree and also be more user friendly in terms of us being able to fine tune them.

I've tried both the Terminal Velocity and the Power Commander. Even though the PowCom is open loop my '06 Streetglide made MUCH more power than with the TerVel plus I can raise the rev limiter. Installation wise it's a no brainer - the PowCom is FAR easier to install (no wires to run). The HD race tuner is very difficult to tune and most HD shops can't tune it properly anyway. You'll need to change to a Zipper's or Daytona Twin Tech to get an closed loop system that tunes itself. Big Bucks.
