Default New 96 incher from HD

So Harley took the quick route to buildiing their stroker motor. Lessee stoled it 1/4 inch, so since they didn't raise the deck height, that means a 1/2 inch SHORTER piston that will have to accelerate faster, will have more side force and will wear the bore quicker.

It's no wonder they seem to be running hotter. I would say to buy an extewnded warranty for it,. but IF thatv means you have to pay the VERY HIGH service rates at the Stealer, that can REALLY kick the cost up. Probably best to just do the service work yourself and save for new pistons and cyls.

I wouldnt lose any sleep over it. The flywheel is the same one they have been using for years in the 103 they just didn't bore it making a quick upgrade to loosen some cash from the wallet.

Droptop's theory is somewhat valid. But,what he does'nt seem to realize is that, generally speaking, the bigger the engine, the more torque...more torque allows for taller gearing...taller gearing reduces the RPMs required to maintain a given MPH...reduced RPMs reduce the piston's speed...the head bone's connected to the neck bone...the neck bone's connected to the.....................
