Question Fuel in the oil

When I got my v-rod, It was being run very rich by a PCIII, that was not working and an open stock exhaust. Of course the first thing I did was change oil and filter. The old oil was very thin and smelled of un-burned hydro carbons. I took a small sample and put a lighter to it, to see if it would burn (raw gasoline) but it would not, so I think I changed it in time. My question, does any one know what type of bearings the rod and crank have in the v-rod. I have seen rod and main bearings scar and spin in cars because of this. I dont hear any noise like a rod or main knock but some times it can take a while. A motorcycle tech told me that v-rod's have a needle cage bearing for the rods. I might have the engine freshened up if this is the case. I dont put much faith in dealer tech's, they dont seem to know much.

Default Seems to me you caught it in time

It seems like you caught it before damage was done, Hodshire. Concerning damage to caged needle bearings, 2 strokes use them extensively and the oil to gas mix they get is much thinner than what was in your crankcase.
If it was mine I'd just ride and enjoy it. Ride safe and GOD bless, Sincerely: Shovelmike.
