I did something stupid with my Screamin' Eagle cylinder studs... Hey everyone...I did something REALLY dumb I think!
I did a search recently about The Motor Company's Screamin' Eagle high tensile strength cylinder studs...I can't remember why. But anywho, as I looked at a page on the internet the guys were complaining about having to purchase the 5/16" ball bearings to put in the bottom of the cylinder stud holes when using the SE studs. Well after recently rebuilding my engine, and using the same aforementioned studs, I realized that I had not done this. I went back to my instruction sheet and could not find any mention of this procedure, until very careful examination. The part of the instructions that had this little bit of info on it had gotten stuck to the packaging and ripped off of the top sheet. I initially thought that it was bleed over ink that caused a double print of something else on the instructions. I can barely make it out, but indeed thats where it talks about the ball bearings and the part #. When I installed the studs, I measured them with my digital calipers and I know for a fact that they are installed to the correct height. They were hard to get installed, and were very snug. Without the bearing in the bottom, is there going to be any problems? Oh someone, please give me an answer good or bad...! |
