Default 07 jugs on an 05?

Hey folks
I know the 07's have an extra 3/8 inches of stroke thanks to repositioning the connecting rods 3/16ths closer to the outer edge of the flywheels. I also know the new pistons are shorter to allow for the longer stroke. Not a full 3/8ths shorter but that accounts for the compression bump in the 96. This is from Donny's first TC book. But what I can't see is whether the 07 jugs could be put on a stock 05 TC88. A friend got his hands on a set of 07 jugs that are in much better shape than the stock ones on the bike he just bought. Anything stand in the way of that idea? My initial thought was no way the jugs must be longer. But having read about the changes in the 96 inch motor I am not so sure I was right.

They are all interchangeable. I have earlier model cylinders on my 2007. I don't know what year they are but I do know that they are not 07, 08, or 09's.
