Default 1200 to 1250 Conversion.

Since I have been riding two/up latley more than before I am really looking at doing a conversion to a 1250. Cylinders, Pistons and Heads.

I then can change the sprocket to give me more of a touring bike. I am currently running with the 883 trans sprocket and Wheel.

My question is on cylinders. I am looking for durability and max cooling.

NRHSperformance has a few flavors.

Iron lined aluminum.

Cast iron.

Axtell Nicom Plated Aluminum.

Any suggestions? If I can scrape some dough together I will do this in the winter. No hurry.

Don't they suggest Buell heads?

Hammer....

You can send your stock heads in and they will port and polish and rework them as you request. You can also get brand new ones. They make them to run with the cylinders and pistons you get from them.

They do have a buell set up also. Sky is the limit on what you are looking for.

I am looking at just under 2,000 for the set up that I am interested in.

I need a little more umph! I have been riding two up latley with my gal. That sporty really works when doing 70 to 80 on the pavement. I figure if I change trans sprocket and rear it will cruise better at a lower rpm. Bringing it up to a 1250 with head work will help with what I lose on the low end when I change the sprockets I still like to kick it at the lights.
