Post SE dual plug heads and ignition options

I have a 2000 XL883 that has been upgraded with a 1200 Screamin' Eagle kit including cams, heads (cylinders and pistons obviously). The heads are dual plug but nothing was ever done with the ignition. I am looking at options to fully utilize the capability of the heads.
My plan was to convert to a single fire iginition and use two stock type coils and use 1 each per cylinder with both sides of the coil hitting on one cylinder.

Does this sounds like it will work?
Is there a proper way to fire both plugs in the dual plug heads?

Any information or help I can get to make sure this is done correctly would be much appreciated.

Default S E dual plug heads

Use the set up that's used on the 1200s. If both plugs aren't firing at the same time you might as well have single plug heads. Any good harley dealer should be able to help you. You will need two coils that's for sure.

Try www.jpcycles.com.... They sell a NOLOGY Pro-fire 12 volt ignition coil, that will work with Screamin' Eagle and OEM ignitions.

PN 380-789 Dual-tower,dual fire coil.

Ride safe.

usually with dual plug heads the ignition timing is retarded since it takes less time to get the whole charge burning with two sources. the bikes that came with dual plugs use a different ignition map - you really need to get into the specifics to do this right - doing it wrong could cause all sorts of expensive problems [sometimes cheap = broken]

get the manuals - get the data on how the bikes with factory dual plugs did it and work with a really sharp mechanic.
