I want to lower my 08 1200R, My shocks measure 13" center to center. I've found some 11" and 11.5 " shocks, will these lower the bike or is there somthing else needed?
What brand are you considering? Progressives will lower the ride some. Be careful of what you fit on the R, lowering only the rear can screw up your geometry. If you want to bring the ride height down you should adjust the front too. Also check that you maintain enough clearance between the wheel and rear tins because of the wiring loom under the rear guard.
That will lower it by a few inches. My rule of thumb. If you lower 2 inches or more you may wanna think about lowering the front also. Your bike may handle a bit funky if you do not. Progressive has front springs you can order.
