Question 1200C Rear Shocks Removal and Replacement

Simple question?

Which is the best method of removing the shocks after lifting the bike clear of the ground. Remove the bolt from the top of the shock, would this give easier access to get the wrench on the nut on the swing arm or struggle and try and remove from the bottom first..?

Cool Rear Shock removal

I did mine 2 weeks ago. Suggest you loosen the right lower bolt while the weight of the bike is on the back wheel. This will allow your socket/wrench to clear the rear slip on if you have Stage 1 pipes.

I removed the topbolt first, then if there was any spring pressure to unload, the shock would exten upwards without damaging anything.

No need to lift the bike. Do them one at a time. the connected shock will hold things together. Remove bottom bolts first on right side.

I didnt raise my bike all the way off the ground. Just enough to take the compression off the shock. I take off bottom nut first.
