Default Bobtail Fender

Does anyone know why the bobtail fender from H-D wont work with leather bags, I've been thinking about getting the fender but at the same time want to keep my bags I have on my bike, can it be done?

You just need the right hardware. Might have to move the turn signals too.

turn signals have already been moved for the bags I have, they are using the rear most bolt hole on the strut. I just saw on the HD website that they won't work with factory leather saddle bags, I have the factory 3 strap bags. I guess the main thing is whats the difference between the factory and bobtail fenders that requires both a mounting kit and won't let you mount the leather bags.

What hardware is the right hardware?

A friend of mine had a similar problem, when he gets back from vacation I'll give him a call and get back to you.

My fender fit right on, no drilling. Good luck!
