Default Sportster Exhaust

Well I finally purchased a Sportster, a 2008 Nightster with just 4000kms on the clock. I will be changing the Screaming Eagle slip on exhausts to Vance and Hines Sideshots and up date the stock aircleaner to a HD Hiflow. The new exhaust has the O2 closed fuel loop sensors. I have been told by an authorised HD dealer that I will not need to use a download with these mods because the sensors will adjust the ECM. Because the stock bike comes on the melting side of lean, I would have thought by introducing more air would do some damage. I know if the exhausts only are changed the O2 sensors handle the adjustment but I'm not so sure about the inlet side of things. I know members out there will have an answer for me. PS: Great bikes those Sportsters, Regards Mike.

Very General rule of thumb. Change either exhaust or intake. No download needed. Change both and you need to remap. I dunno has anyone changed both without flashing the computer? How does it run? Can the sensors handle a change on both intake and exhaust?
