Default 2008 sportster exhaust

Hi everyone,

New to the thread and the first bike I bought brand new is a 2008 XL 883. I would like some better sound like everyone does, but can I just do a set of slip ons till I free some extra cash up? I heard that the computer will adjust for the pipes, but of course the dealer swears it will blow up if I don't put $1000 in pipes, air cleaner, and power comander. I just want it to sound less like a sewing machine. Thanks for the any info.

No Coop.. They are trying to sell you the package deal. It will not blow up if you just add some Slipons. The computer will adjust. You should be just fine.

Cycle Shack slipons also provide pretty good bang for the buck in terms of sound and performance. Avoid the new "improved" Screamin' Eagle slipons (50 state legal), they're dogs not worthy of the name.

With just slip-ons, you don't need anything else.
Cycle shack makes great slip-ons, and complete exhausts.
Put a total exhaust system on my wifes 1200 custom (02').
Cycle shacks sound fantastic.
