Default sportster lighting? anything better?

my 05 sportster light is not verygood for night ridding/touring...i have align the headlight to the manual instructions....35 inches up at 25 feet...this made some difference...thought about going to one of them high wattage bulbs....but from what i read on here the wiring harness cant handle the amps the higher wattage bulb will draw....so i am left thinking about mounting some piaa lamps on the crash bars ...any help/suggestion would be great...Paelo

Default Bright lights

Hey Paelo,

If you haven`t already get a Xenon bulb. More light. Same wattage and only $20.00. After that Harley lights for $300. + Then HID for $500.

While a bit pricy, PIIA makes some crazy bright HID driving lamps. They are only about 3" in diameter, but WOW! Talk about seeing into the future!

Kuryakyn makes a wicked HID system. It's pricey, but I think you could land a plane with one of those things.

Got the PIAA spots mounted on my forks, Really pleased the HIDS really light up the road, I also run with passing lights on all the time...

I changed the bulb in my 96 1200 Sport to a Sylvania Silverstar I got at O'Reilly. I wasn't sure it would help but it really did. Was going to put a PIAA replacement in on the recommendation of the parts guy up at J&P but they were out of stock the day I was up there. The Sylvania was $20something vs about $45 or 50 for the PIAA.
