Default Front Fender

On Jan 3rd I picked up an 08 Nightster to go with my FXD. I plan to use it to commute and keep some miles off the Super Glide, and I just wanted it.

What would be the downside of running without a front fender? Besides rain and gravel in the face. I wonder if the law requires one?

Welcome to the forum, oreocat. You covered the only downsides I can come up with running without the front fender, if you plan to commute with it those unexpected showers will be messy.
Requirements vary too much from state to state to know how you would stand with the law. You had best check with the motor vehicle inspection station.

What Mike said.

But if you ask unfknblvbl (Gunny)....You would have do dirty your foot directly on the tire if you need to lace up your shoes.

I cut mine back about an inch to short. It throws the water almost straight up so I can ride through the spout on those rainy days. Live and learn I guess.

How much did you cut yours down, the Nightster's is already somewhat cut down. I have an S&S air cleaner on order at my local independent shop. I may powdercoat it black and do the fender also.
