Quick question,if a shop forgot to put the bushing in,why aren't they fixing it while kissing your butt big time?

Ace, nearest harley shop is 2.5 - 3 hours away from me, I don't have the money to trailer the bike back up there, and they aren't interested in coming to get it where I'm that far out. I rode it on home with the oil leak as I didn't have the option of another vehicle, i had my dad take me to pick up the bike, he went on ahead, didn't notice the leak until I was half way down the road and stopped for gas, the shop was getting ready to close when I called them about it. so far I've had to argue with them about getting the bushing sent to me, because it was a used cover they don't feel responsible, but i did get one sent free of charge. I've had to buy my own oil to replace what's leaked out and what will be lost when I pull the cover, not to mention there is still stuff messed up on the bike from the wreck it was in the shop for, They had the bike from December 12 - April 14 and still couldn't seem to look it over well enough to get all the stuff fixed. had to make em replace a lense cover on my turn signal before i'd even leave the shop, they still have a list of about 5 - 6 things to fix yet, not counting the primary, so I guess all in all I'm tired of dealing with the dealer.... just want it done and done right, and figure the only way to accomplish that is to do it myself.
Kevin

P.S. been a huge Ace fan for years, excellent guitarist.

The only thing that might give you problems is the clutch release mechanism, which you will find under the derby cover, there is a lock with a spring attached that you remove by pulling straight out, then you turn the adjuster screw with a small screwdriver until the nut backs all the way off the shaft. After that its simply removing bolts until the cover comes off.

I got the job done tonight, it was pretty straight forward, if anyone else needs the info I can help them out on it, I have all the torque specs for the covers as well.
Kevin

primary cover - 100 - 120 in-lbs
inspection cover - 40 - 60 in-lbs
derby cover - 84 - 109 in-lbs
oil plug 20 ft-lbs
primary chain tensioner 25 ft-lbs
primary chain cold should be at 1/2 inch
oil takes 1 quart and should reach the bottom of the clutch basket while the bike is held straight up.
